Community Planning Overview:
The Douglas County Plan needed to find ways to accommodate development demand while protecting rural character and important environmental features including steep slopes, large floodplains, and sand and gravel resources. The plan addressed these issues through mandatory conservation design techniques with all new developments, an innovative approach in Nebraska.
