Architecture Overview:

Presenting the strength and simplicity inherent in the architecture of this central Iowa community, St. Mary’s architecture is a simple contemporary interpretation of the traditional images of “church.” Located on the edge of Pella by the rolling woods of Big Rock Park, the building site makes the most of scenery and public open space. The space, designed to serve as the place of worship for today, is the first phase at this new site and will convert into a fellowship hall as the parish grows necessitating a larger permanent worship space. It is oriented to capture the park’s views and flood the space with natural light.
