Architecture Overview:

This is a facility for a growing 8/9 Middle School population, as part of a larger Secondary School campus. The media center for this school is prominent, located at the building’s main entrance to allow before- and after-school access. Continuing the emphasis on stimulating student intellectual growth, classroom spaces are designed as comfortable learning environments, featuring natural lighting and energy-efficiency. The school integrates the same materials as the adjacent high school and YMCA, but gains its own identity through special detailing of building shapes, window sizes, and brick patterns. Future plans call for creating a single secondary campus connected by shared sports fields and eliminating the street that currently runs between the High School and Middle School.
