Housing Study
The Ottumwa Housing Study uses community outreach and market analysis to help understand the vision and needs of the community.
The study's strategies focus on reaching the housing goals and action items from the Our Ottumwa 2040 Comprehensive Plan. The recency of the Comprehensive Plan allowed this unique approach to quickly set implementation steps in motion. Especially unique to this study is the level of stakeholder involvement at its completion. The process concluded with a public presentation to community groups whose participation will be crucial to achieving Ottumwa's housing goals. In an effort led by the Ottumwa Legacy Foundation, attending groups were charged with choosing the study's housing goal(s) on which they can have the largest impact. RDG facilitated the implementation session with a presentation and discussion guide.
